Gerrie Villon comes from a background as unusual as his talents are surprising.

A childhood (mis)spent as a choirboy in the idyllic seclusion of South Africa's Drakensberg mountains, followed by operatic training in Vienna, is hardly the normal seedbed for a multimedia career. Nor could his first paid job - singing graveside at Vienna's Central Cemetery - be called a perfect platform from which to break into TV production.

But then unexpected leaps of the imagination and the ability to see and form astonishing connections have characterised the work that has made Gerrie what he is today - independent producer extraordinaire and one of the modern media landscape's most in-demand creative troubleshooters.
