Gerrie Villon comes from a background as unusual as his talents are surprising. A childhood (mis)spent as a choirboy in the idyllic seclusion of South Africa's Drakensberg mountains, followed by operatic training in Vienna, is hardly the normal seedbed for a multimedia career. Nor could his first paid job - singing graveside at Vienna's Central Cemetery - be called a perfect platform from which to break into TV production.
