With a copy of Ceremony of Innocence nestling in the homes of pretty much everyone who counted in the multimedia firmament, the time was right for Villon to capitalise on his achievement. Formulating work practices that had crystallised during the production of Ceremony, he founded the virtual production company V-On Ltd in early 1999.

The birth of V-On, a dynamic boutique agency, was followed swiftly by Gerrie's appointment as Executive Creative Director of Volkswagen's new media development programme.

His first move was to engender a fruitful collaboration between VW and various European design agencies, and co-ordinate the international co-production of VW's youth portal ZOON from conception through to its international launch 20 months later.
